That's what we are here for. I...Alicia,
Vent away! That's what we are here for. If anyone needs to/has a right to vent it's you. I can't imagine how frustrating it must be for you some days. It saddens me that you have to wonder 'what if' when thinking back to April and feeling guilty about it. I know you know that God directs all things, but it is still difficult to not question sometimes.

Love the pictures of the boys -- they are so adorable. I want to give each one of them a big squeeze.

Glad to hear that Gavin has been keeping healthy (and hope the rest of the family has been, too).

Love you all and hope to see you soon.

KimberlyKimberly Hasshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17331565778144360384noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4892567951346285110.post-52377841061418522412007-12-11T17:45:00.000-05:002007-12-11T17:45:00.000-05:00Gavin is SO CUTE!My gosh, the red hair and chubby ...Gavin is SO CUTE!
My gosh, the red hair and chubby cheeks just slay me!!!!
I can't even imagine anyone thinking otherwise because I think Gavin is the cutest buddah baby I've ever scene!

I wrote a little something that we're all mentioned in and wnated to share it with you and Amy. i don't have direct emails for you so here's a link: http://arizonasarah.diaryland.com/Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4892567951346285110.post-7585150662966650842007-12-11T12:49:00.000-05:002007-12-11T12:49:00.000-05:00I totally agree with Nicole. I have caught myself looking in the direction of a special needs child, but honestly - I'm not staring to be mean or thoughtless or anything like that. More out of curiosity I suppose. Thank you for airing this out though. We need these reminders from those walking in your shoes. God bless your family.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4892567951346285110.post-39594070853578756262007-12-10T18:29:00.000-05:002007-12-10T18:29:00.000-05:00Hey sweetie, Just wanted to say an 'AMEN' to you! ...Hey sweetie,
Just wanted to say an 'AMEN' to you! Unfortunately, people can be ignorant at times...in any situation!! I STILL remember the stupid things people said to us when my sister and Lanie passed away..."you'll feel better in a few days" HUH??? Are you a complete moron...when in doubt...SHUT UP! lol! sorry! I guess I'm being blunt! Anyway, I'll have to tell you about "my list" next time I see you....It just might be something you will need to have too! LOL!
Also, since we are praising your mama, I just thought I'd add my 2 cents worth too.....I'm thinking that at one time or another, your mom brought us to Special Olympics when she would volunteer or something?? anyway, old memories, but a warm pleasant one, none the less!
Love you!
hang in there!
NicoleAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4892567951346285110.post-33035739563822023572007-12-10T17:24:00.000-05:002007-12-10T17:24:00.000-05:00Alicia, I think there are just many people out the...Alicia, I think there are just many people out there now who don't think, or care to think, or can't think. The other day, an elderly lady in the grocery store said to a friend of mine, "You shouldn't bring children to the grocery store. Keep them at home where they belong." She had her baby who is 6 months old in the carrier, sitting there not even crying. But I have also seen people ignore or mistreat the elderly, as well. It is sad our society has become unthinking and downright rude. Please always feel you can vent to us on this website. We learn from what you say to us. We become more caring and thoughtful people because of it. Thanks for all your insights. I know it's...Alicia, I'm SO glad you got this out. I know it's been a tough week(s) for you, and getting it out in the open surely must have felt good. I agree wholeheartedly that mom did an amazing job teaching us to treat others (especially those with disabilities or delays) with the same respect we would want. How lucky are we to have a mom who cared enough to not only teach but DISPLAY this way of thinking?! :o)

My heart breaks to think about how hard it must be to finally leave the house to do something as simple as run errands, only to be stared at or asked an inappropriate question about Gavin's state. I have no doubt you will be able to teach those people a lesson in a diplomatic way, though. I guess not everyone is as lucky to have a mom like us...and not everyone is as lucky to have an amazing, supportive mom like YOU, either. Keep your chin up and know you are doing everything in your power to ensure Gavin and your other boys have a fair, happy, and healthy outlook on life.

I LOVE YOU!!
