Gavin talked them into taking the vent off real soon after I left the last update. By the time I got into his room he was wide awake and proving that he didn't need the vent any longer. So, they pulled it out! I was very relieved about that! He was in quite a lot of pain yesterday evening, but after they increased how often he could get Morphine he was doing quite well! He slept most of the night and is doing well. Hopefully today proves the same. One of the nurses told us she had this surgery, minus the G-tube, and that the second day was actually harder. It is so hard to imagine what Gavin is feeling like most of the time, so it's always good when someone has been through similar things and can tell me about it to give me more of a idea about how he feels. It's hard to hear, but then I can help him more I think.

Pray that Gavin can be kept free from pain and that he will heal fast! Thanks for your prayers! Have a great day! I'll try to keep you updated on Gavin's progress.

Love, Alicia and Family

So glad to hear that Gavin was taken off the vent. We pray that he will soon be free from pain. Poor little guy has had too much pain in his short life. He deserves to be pain free and happy now. We also continue to keep the family in our prayers. Love The Hilton's
