Gavin's Turn!

"Guess where you are going today Gavin?!"

"You are going back to school again!"

Gavin was very excited about this!

Yesterday was Gavin's first day of school for this year. He would normally ride the bus to and from school, but the busing schedule is a mess, so I'm going to be driving him until they fix it. Gavin is only in school 2 1/2 hours each day and he was going to be on the bus longer than he was going to be in class! They had him riding on the bus for 1 1/2 hours on the way to school and 1 1/2 hours on the way back home! Which would mean that he would be on the bus for 3 hours each day! The school is only 15-20 minutes away and there are only a couple of other students that ride with him....so I thought this was crazy! Plus, Gavin is on his feeding pump 14 hours a day, so his feeding schedule would have been messed up too. Hopefully they get it worked out soon, because Gavin does seem to enjoy riding the bus.

This is how I found him when I picked him up from school yesterday. (The pictures are really bad because it was dark in the room and he was very wiggly and excited!)

It looks like he enjoyed his day! He is such a big boy!

I missed him, but I know that his being in school is really good for him and his development. But, when we got home I just kept holding him and hugging him, because I missed him so much!

Our other boys are enjoying being back in school too. It has been a busy, crazy week getting used to everything again, but it's going well. But, I totally miss having my boys at home with me! Is it almost summer vacation yet?! :)

"Now therefore, listen to me, my children, for blessed are those who keep my ways. Hear instruction and be wise, and do not disdain it." Proverbs 8:32-33

Its so funny how Jax does that same thing with his arms. He straightens them out stiff, but he is not stiff in his arms, he just does it sometimes. I hate these stupid bus schedules. They need to just hire another driver! Every special needs child I know is on the bus for an ungodly amount of time!

oh, he looks sooo happy and excited!

I will admit...
I wish I could send Hudson to school...
because pre-school is where he would be if things weren't the way they are, and it is a *normal* occurrence...and yet he will probably never experience it.

I know it is hard on you, and would be on me too if I was in your shoes, but there is something about it that is pretty darn cool and *normal* and we don't get much of that for these little people.

God bless you and Gavin...I hope he flourishes in school! :)

It looks like Gavin was excited, and had fun! :) I hope they get the bus schedule figured out. Emily is on the bus for almost an hour in the morning, and an hour and ten minutes in the afternoon. Luckily, she LOVES the bus! The other parents all say hi to her, she loves driving around, the bus driver sings to her. So I don't worry about it, because I know she's happy there.

I hope your days calm down. The first week or two is always hectic!

I bet you miss your cute boy while he's at school. :) I'm sure he's teaching them more than they are teaching him! He's got a lot to share.

He is such a good looking little guy. Sorry it's that time of year again and that he has to go back to school, but thankful that it is only a few hours and that may give you a chance to catch up on a few things or maybe even to rest a bit. Hopefully the whole family will have a great school year.
