His special purpose

Just think
your son is here not by chance,
but by God's choosing.
His hand formed him and
made him the person he is.
God compares him to no one else-
he is one of a kind.
Your son will lack nothing
that God's grace can't give him.
God has allowed your son to be here
at this time in history
to fulfill His special purpose
for this generation.

Last week I was wondering about what my purpose in life was. This week I was dusting and saw this picture, and the frame that holds it with these words on it, on our book shelf. This picture and frame were given to us, by my sister, the day Gavin was baptized. It meant a lot to me then, but I think it means even more to me now! I think we all, sometime in our life, wonder what our purpose is. I'm still wondering.....but at least I'm looking for it! And, I know
that if I look with God in mind, I can't go wrong.
"Dear Lord, help me to find Your purpose for me. And, help me to glorify You while I search. Thank you for the knowledge that You, indeed, have a purpose for all of us! Amen!"
YOU have a purpose! I have a purpose! Gavin has a purpose! There is purpose in all that we go through! And, may we ALWAYS remember God's purpose in Jesus, for us! Amen!
Jesus said: "Now my soul is troubled, and what shall I say? 'Father, save Me from this hour'? But for this purpose I came to this hour. Father, glorify Your name." John 12:27-28

So great how much meaning this holds after all this time. :o) That might be my favorite picture of Gavin (which is why I put it in the frame), too! SO CUTE. Can't wait to see you all on Sunday as we celebrate a great occasion of Gavin's 2nd bday!

As for having a purpose, I think of all the times you were there for me as a child and teen...like a second mother; someone to teach and help and love. I couldn't have asked for a greater example than the one you helped to set. You continue to do this for your children now, and you are a hero in my eyes no matter what. (((HUGS)))

Alicia,

I'm just reading the last three, four of your blogs tonight...

1. You sounded so sad about the kids going off to school {{{HUG}}}}. I understand the venting, how it helps. I'm glad that works for you. I think it helps me too, when I do it. It's so much better than all of those words ratteling in my brain, while I'm trying to go to sleep at night.

2. Please don't stop blogging!!!

3. Your purpose? Or, one of them. This BLOG!!! I love your writting. Your honesty. Your scripture passages. Another one, the BEST mom that Gavin could ever possibly have!

4. The poem was lovely. And that last picture, Oh my goodness, He is so handsome!!! I love that pucker and those eyes, and his hair, I would love to scoop him up and give him a big old hug!!!!

Have a good weekend!
