Gavin is doing great at momma boot camp or as the brothers call it; baby bootcamp. They are helping me out with it! They root Gavin on the whole time and laugh about what I'm doing with him. So, it's turning out to be quite fun! Gavin even seems to be enjoying it! He also had a fairly good evening lastnight. He hardly gagged at all! This morning was not so good, but we are thankful for the times that he is doing well!

Yesterday I said that Gavin has been in the hospital for about 5 1/2 months out of his life, but I forgot to add the amount of time he spent in the NICU at birth. So, he's actually been in the hospital for over 6 months of his life! Poor little Vinster!

I also failed to mention some good news! He is gradually being taken off the oxygen! Yay! We are working on getting him off slowly. He is off the oxygen for about 6 hours a day now. His sats are staying up and he's handling it well. The only reason he is still on it is for medicinal purposes. It helps with high pulmonary pressures, and since his last echo showed them to be quite decreased, he shouldn't need it any longer. His cardiologist said to take him off slowly and to have him only on it at night by the time his next appointment is. They will do another echo then and if his pressures are still low then we will hopefully be able to get Gavin off the O 2 for good! It is so nice to see his cute little face without any tubes on it! I'll have to post a new picture without them soon!

Thanks for your continued prayers and support!

Love, Alicia and Family

You go, Gavin! Grandma is so proud of you. Thank you Jacob, Nolan and Caleb for helping mom with "Boot Camp" responsibilities. I can just see you all now, and it brings a smile to my face. You all are such sweet brothers to Gavin, and he really does need us all to love him and help him, precious little man. You'll have to show me what to do when I see you Friday night! Love, hugs and kisses to all of you. I'm very proud of you too, Alicia (and Joel)! Gavin is blessed to have you as parents! I love you all.

This is such an upbeat and exciting post! YAY, Gavin! I'm totally grinning over here right now... :o) I can't wait to see the little guy without those pesky tubes in his nose, and pray he is able to come of the Oxygen for good SOON!!

I also can't wait to witness baby bootcamp! I'm hoping to visit you all sometime this week or weekend, so you'll have to show me the ropes!

Hugs and love from Lansing,

Alicia,
Glad to hear that Gavin is doing well at 'baby bootcamp'. How fun that the boys are helping out, too. Great news about the oxygen. Hope he's off it for good soon. Praying for his continued progress and thinking of you often.
Love,

I can almost picture Gavin in his camouflaged uniform and laced up boots! Your unit is on a mission with the brothers united in the cause!:)
We'll remember to keep his digestive concerns and weaning off the oxygen in our prayers. Our prayers are for you too. Love, the Rumph's

I missed this one somehow, Alicia, but I'm glad to read that there are some small rainbows of improvement even in the clouds.

Looking forward to seeing the cute little Gavin face sans tubes!

Keep hanging on! We pray every day!
