Gavin's surgery to move his pacemaker over is now scheduled for Friday, June 1st. I have to take him on Thursday for the pre-surgery work-up and then the surgery will be on Friday. I pray that this visit is VERY short! Please join us in praying for this! He's been told that we are just going to say Hi to all the great staff that we met there, but that we are headed home real quick!

He has had a better day today than the last few days. I am thankful for this! He even gave me a couple small smiles this evening! Yay!

Keep those prayers up! We appreciate you and them so much!

Love, Alicia and Family

We never stop praying! We want you back quick, too!

Smiles are good, Gavin. As some grown-up always used to tell me, "It takes many (I forget how many) more muscles to smile than to frown :)!

Have a safe and fast trip!

Alicia, I have a friend whose baby was a preemie and had several surgeries and was in the hospital for several months. When they finally got her home, her baby never smiled and sad to say, was very needy and very fussy for a very long time. Today she is 19 years old and a happy delightful young lady. Her Mom says she feels Ashley was such a difficult baby back then because she couldn't express herself any other way to say "I've been through so much, so many surgeries and needles and tests, so this is how I'm going to be to let you know that I have been through so much in my short little life". This may be what Gavin is trying to say. He has been through more than any adult I know as have you and your family. You are all still on our prayer list and our church's. Dalene

I'm so happy to hear about those little smiles! Yay! As for having to have 2 separate surgeries, I'm so sorry about that...I know how much you wanted it to all be done at once, but as you already said, this is all happening as it is for a reason, and who would want to fight reason? ;o)

For the 1st time in months, I'll be firmly planted at home and in town this weekend, so if you need me to come visit and/or keep you company in Ann Arbor, I'm yours! I love and miss you all!

xoxo (Aunt) Amy
