Everyone should have a Gavin!

In my last post I talked about some of the struggles involved in raising a child like Gavin. Today I'm going to talk about the absolute joy that he brings! While I may have lost my sense of innocence, he on the other hand, is full of innocence! I cannot look at him without feeling happy! When I'm in an ornery mood, all I have to do is think about him or pick him up, and I'm filled with joy! I mean, LOOK AT THIS FACE!

He has no way of feeling the stresses of this world. He is pure innocence! He only shows love and happiness! (Unless he is tired or sick, of course.) How could anyone not get filled with joy being around someone like him?! There is nobody else in this world that can bring a smile to my heart and face than Gavin can!

So, although he brings about much more responsibility and emotions for me, often times those emotions are those of pure bliss! Everyone should be blessed with a Gavin!!

"And my soul shall be joyful in the Lord; It shall rejoice in His salvation." Psalm 35:9

Our family is taking off for a short getaway this weekend. We are going to Indianapolis, IN for some fun and to visit with some of our family who lives south of us. We are very much looking forward to our weekend of escape! I hope everyone enjoys their weekend as much as we are planning to!

Enjoy you're mini-vacation, are you from IN? I live about an hour south of Indy. I'm thinking if you live in IN, we needs to get together!!

Wow, I was just thinking the other day how much joy Marissa brings to my life... aside from all the extra stress. What if I never had her? How empty would my life be? What a blessing and a joy to be able to learn such important lessons from our little ones!

I totally agree... everyone should have a Gavin!

Have a safe and wonderful trip!

I wouldn't trade my "Gavin", named Jax, for anything. He brings our whole family so much joy. I'm glad you get to get away too. :)

Alicia, Joel, and all the young VW's: Have a wonderful time in Indiana, and we'll think of you as you celebrate the Joy of Christ's resurrection on Sunday! ~ Gavin's picture of joy is going on my refrigerator! Thanks for sharing!

Have fun on your little getaway!

I love this post. I was just telling another mom how much I just absolutely adore my Peanut. She is amazing! The smiles, the giggles, the silliness! I cannot imagine a life without her. She is truly bliss!

It certainly was a complete joy seeing him at our family gathering last week! I love reading the blog and being updated that way, but nothing takes the place of seeing it first hand! All your boys are a joy and your stories about them always make me smile. I very much enjoyed our time back at the kids table!!!!
