Gavin is still in the hospital, but doing much better! As soon as he got some extra fluids in him he fell asleep and has been content ever since! Thank God he is so persistant! He must have been yelling at us: "I need fluids! I'm not going to stop crying until I get what I want and need!" They believe he has a virus and with the fever and being on dieuretics, he became dehydrated quickly! Thankfully he exhibited the same signs as last time and I knew to get him in soon. They say this should be a short stay, but we'll see. It is so good to see him doing better though!

It is kind of nice being here because with him catching up on sleep and not having the wild brothers running around, I was able to write some much needed thankyou cards! I have been quite behind with these! Sorry! I know that I have forgotten people who have done wonderful and kind deeds for us! For this I am sorry to those I might have forgotten. Some days I forget how old I am, so don't feel too bad! Please know that though you didn't receive a note from us, we are very thankful to you! We want to thank those who continue to pray for us, who send encouraging messages and cards and for the many generous things people continue to do for us!

Jacob was really sad that Gavin was back in the hospital! He said, "I was hoping that we'd never see that hospital again!" I told him that I had hoped for the same thing, but.....He also said that he was sad because he looked forward to holding Gavin each day and now wouldn't be able to do this today. How sweet a big brother he is! He has been so helpful lately. Since Gavin demands to be held quite often, I have a hard time getting things done most days, or taking a shower for that matter! Jacob has been helping a lot in this department by holding Gavin for me and helping out more too! So, I'm thankful for his willingness when most boys his age wouldn't want to be sitting around and helping with this. I know I complain about our crazy boys, but they all have such great qualities too! Nolan is a great teacher to Caleb and most of the time keeps him entertained. As for Caleb, as you know, he supplies the humor needed each day! Just thought I'd share the good qualities too!

Have a great day! Keep those prayers going!

Love, Alicia and Family

Praise God Gavin is feeling better. Good thing momma bear knew the signs that something was wrong. We pray that he will be able to come home real soon. What great boys you have. There are times when they are at your last nerve but then times like this come and you know you are doing a great job as parents. Love, The Hilton's

Oh ALicia, I'm so sorry he's back in the hospital!!! Poor little guy and to all of you too!! Jacob is a GREAT big brother, that was obvious when we saw you guys last week!!
I pray that this is a quick visit for him!!
And I don't want to speak for everyone, but I certainly don't think a lot of us expect thank you cards...please, if we were on the list for thank you's....take me off! That will be one less you have to write...again, assuming I'm on the list...lol!!
Love to you and the boys....(that includes Joel!)
hang in there and let me know if there is anything we can do over here!!
love you!

Such great news to hear Gavin is doing better and will most likely go home today (well, that last part I heard from you personally)!! I must admit I felt pretty depressed yesterday after learning our little prodigy was - once again! - in the hospital, so I can't imagine how it must feel for you, Joel, and the 3 big brothers. Speaking of them, they DO all have such amazing attributes! While they are each very unique from one another in lots of ways, they are also all so loving, caring, funny and strong. You've done such a wonderful job with all 4 of them, Alicia and Joel, and I'm so proud to be able to call them my nephews. :o)

Hugs and much love,

Aunt Amy

What great news that Gavin is doing better. You certainly know him better than anyone (you've shown that time and time again) and know what signs to look for. What great helpers your boys are. I'm sure that they are crazy at times, but they are all so sweet and love their little brother so much. Hope Gavin is able to come home very soon. Hope to see you on Saturday.
Love,
Kimberly

Dear Alicia,
Sorry to hear Gavin was in the hospital again. Sorry I have not been in touch for a while. We were on vacation for over a week and before that I was getting ready to leave. I get frustrated with my kids too, I can't imagine the load you have at home with the special care Gavin needs and trying to keep up with the other boys. Its good to hear that you have family and friends who can step in and let you get some quality time with the older boys.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. I cant' believe its the middle of July already and it won't be long and we will be sending them off to school again. Enjoy your summer and when Gavin can be mobile GIVE ME A CALL TO COME TO THE FARM FOR A PICNIC. After this week our calendar is slowing down. Our girls are participating in Dairy Days at MSU this week. :)
God Bless you and take one day at a time.
Love, Patt & Steve and family :)
Elizabeth says HI to Jacob and Morgan says hi to Nolan!
(Elizabeth was feeding calves this morning and a calf kicked the gate and the gate hit her in the face. She is swelled up on her nose and around her eye. She will probably end up pretty black and blue.)
